Notes: [Personal communication (October 2, 2001) with the author stated that this paper was published in 1993, although other dates such as 1985 and 1989 have appeared on issues of this paper. Publications dated as late as 1990 are cited.] A checklist of 114 scale insects belonging to the Sicilian fauna is given which includes Ortheziidae, Margarodidae, Pseudococcidae, Eriococcidae, Cryptococcidae, Micrococcidae, Kermesidae, Coccidae, Aclerdidae, Asterolecaniidae, Cerococcidae, and Diaspididae. A list of the most important contributions from a taxonomic, faunistic and biological viewpoint are also given.
