Rosen, D. 1967b Biological and integrated control of citrus pests in Israel.. Journal of Economic Entomology 60(3): 1422-1427.
Notes: Following the successful biological control of Florida red scale, Chrysomphalus aonidum (L.) in the main citrus-growing areas of Israel by an introduced parasite, Aphytis holoxanthus Debach, intensive efforts have been made in Israel during the past decade to improve the biological control of citrus pests and to develop an integrated control program. The review of these efforts includes the identification and appraisal of locally established natural enemies of citrus pests, introduction and liberation of exotic parasites and predators, and evaluation of pesticide selectivity. Additional scale pests mentioned include Aonidiella aurantii, Ceroplastes floridensis, Coccus hesperidum, Icerya purchasi, Lepidosaphes beckii, Parlatoria pergandii, Planococcus citri, Pseudococcus citriculus, P. comstocki, P. adonidum and Saissetia oleae.
