Notes: [Proceedings of a symposium held at the Fifteenth International Congress of Entomology, Washington, D.C., August 19-27, 1976, and other selected papers.] Mention was made of the successful attempt to reduce a heavy infestation of Planococcus (=Pseudococcus) citri on commercial greenhouse gardenias to a low level and maintain control by introducing Exochomus flavipes, Anagyrus kivuensis and Chrysopa carnea. Cryptolaemus montrouzieri was released against mealybugs and Aphytis chrysompali and A. lingnanensis against Aonidiella aurantii attacking citrus. Microterys flavus was tested in periodic releases against Coccus hesperidum on citrus. Chrysopa californicus (=Chrysopa carnea) was released against Pseudococcus sp. on pears. Aonidiella aurantii and Saissetia oleae are held in check by Aphytis melinus and Metaphycus helvolus on citrus in California.
