Notes: Oriental yellow scale, Aonidiella orientalis is known to be distributed in 24 countries across 4 continents. It has been reported as a pest of arecanut, banana, citrus, coconut, guava, mulberry, peach, pomegranate and tamarind among several recorded host plants. Recently considered a serious pest on coconut and arecanut in South India. The bionomics and management of yellow scale is reviewed.
