  • Notes: The purpose of this paper is 1.) to detail interception records of L. laterochitinosa leading up to its establishment in south Florida, 2.) to report the establishment of this pest in the Florida landscape, 3.) to document the first natural enemies preying on L. laterochitinosa in Florida, including three new host-parasitoid records, 4.) to provide a key to the 12 species of Lepidosaphes armored scales present, or commonly intercepted, in Florida based on slide-mounted adult females, 5.) to provide illustrations of each of these species, and 6.) to report the host records for these 12 species in the Florida State Collection of Arthropods in Gainesville, Florida, USA. Given the likelihood that L. laterochitinosa will expand its range across Florida, and potentially the United States and surrounding regions, this work aims to aid in the biological control, detection, and identification of this emerging invasive pest.
