Pillai, S.R.M., Gopi, K.C., Salarkhan, A.M., & Pankajam, S. 1991 Insect pest problems of Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth. in nurseries and young plantations.. Indian Journal of Forestry 14(4): 253-260.
Notes: In nurseries and young plantations of Albizia lebbeck, seedlings and saplings are subjected to serious insect problems, the prominent one being stunting and dwarfing of seedlings and saplings caused by sap sucking insect pests. The pests involved are Psylla hyalina, Acizzia indica, Aphis sp. nr. Craccivora, Rastrococcus iceryoides, Ferrisia virgata and Thrips flavus. All except Rastrococcus iceryoides are new pest records on A. lebbeck. Control measures tried indicated that spraying with insecticides kept the pests under control. Biological and silvicultural control strategies are discussed.
