Paul, S., & Ghosh, A.B. 2004 Effect of Novaluron 10EC against Planococcus minor (Maskell), Ferrisia virgata (Cockerell) (Pseudococcidae) and Icerya aegyptiaca (Douglas) (Margarodidae).. Environment & Ecology 22(4): 729-732.
Notes: A laboratory study was conducted to investigate the efficacy of Rimon (Novaluron 10 EC at 0.005, 0.0075, 0.01, 0.0125 and 0.015%) on nymphs and eggs of Planococcus minor and F. virgata (reared on potato tubers), and Icerya aegyptiaca (reared on potted Pedilanthus sp. plants). A liquid detergent was added to the spray fluid at 3 ml/litre. The treated nymphs were transferred to fresh leaves of Coleus (F. virgata), Ixora (Planococcus minor) and Pedilanthus sp. (Icerya aegyptiaca). Rimon at 0.015% was the most effective in completely controlling the female nymphs of Planococcus minor, F. virgata and Icerya aegyptiaca within 9, 12 and 15 days, respectively. The LC50 value on Icerya aegyptiaca and Planococcus minor eggs was 0.0079 and 0.0301%, respectively. A mortality of 50% was observed on Planococcus minor nymphs from treated eggs (0.015%), while only 15.14% mortality was observed on Icerya aegyptiaca.
