Parrella, M.P., Hansen, L.S., & van Lenteren, J.C. 1999 Glasshouse environments.. Handbook of Biological Control: Principles and Applications of Biological Control. Academic Press San Diego et al. 1046 pp.
Notes: This chapter covers biological control of greenhouse environments, some 100,000 to 150,000 ha worldwide. Manipulations in greenhouses are easier than those outdoors - for the pests, the natural enemies, the environment, and IPM in general. Greenhouses offer food, warmth, protection from weather, and physical barriers to prevent dispersal by drift. Planococcus citri is one of the problem pests on chrysanthemums in greenhouses, and one of the pests discussed in this chapter.
