Abstract: Cycles of both pheromone production and release peaked daily between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m., and decreased markedly after 4 p.m.; amounts of pheromone gradually decreased three days after the emergence; significance in synchronization of the daily rhythm of female pheromone release and activities of males and females with reference to reproductive success is discussed.
