Notes: [Conference: General assembly of zoologists of INRA on the theme 'variability of populations'. La Grande-Motte, 7-8 October 1976.: Assemble generale des zoologistes de l'I.N.R.A. sur le theme 'variabilite des populations'. La Grande-Motte, 7-8 October 1976.] Three populations of Metaphycus lounsburyi (How.), from California, Italy and Spain, are being studied in southern France for the biological control of Saissetia oleae (Ol.). Though they are morphologically indistinguishable, the three populations show behavioural differences with respect to the preferred age of the host and of heterogamic pairing that may be an advantage in biological control programmes.
