Neuffer, G. 1969a Use of climate-diagrams to characterize the climatic conditions of areas infested by the San José scale (Quadraspidiotus perniciosus Comst.). Rapport de la Conférence international OEPP/OILB sur le pou de San José. Series A, No. 48. Organisation Européene et Méditerranéene pour la Protection des Plantes (OEMPP) Paris 111 pp.

Notes: [Sponsoring organization also called European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organization (EMPPO). Conference held in Milan, Verona, 24-26 June 1968.] The method used to reproduce climatological data enabling the comparison of the various San José scale infested areas puts all the essential characteristics of the climate into one single diagram showing temperature, precipitation, degree of humidity during the wet season, aridity during the dry season, cold duration, and frost-free months. The comparison of these climate-diagrams from the infested areas shows that the pest can live under a broad spectrum of climatic conditions; the same is true for its parasite Prospaltella perniciosi Tow.
