Notes: Five species of the mealybugs belonging to the tribe Planococcini (Homoptera: Pseudococcidae) have so far been recorded from West Bengal, i.e. Ferrisicoccus psidii, Maconellicoccus hirsutus, Planococcoides bengalensis, Planococcus citri and P. lilacinus. A detailed description is provided and biological behavior discussed.
