Morse, J.G., & Bellows, T.S. 1986 Toxicity of major citrus pesticides to Aphytis melinus (Hymenoptera: Aphelinidae) and Cryptolaemus montrouzieri (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae).. Journal of Economic Entomology 79(2): 311-314.
Notes: The 48-h residual toxicity of major insecticides used for control of the thrips Scirtothrips citri and the diaspidid Aonidiella aurantii, pests of citrus, was evaluated in laboratory studies for two of their natural enemies, the aphelinid parasite Aphytis melinus, collected from a lemon grove in California in 1983, and a laboratory clone of the coccinellid predator Cryptolaemus montrouzieri. Rates as high as 4 times the highest recommended field rate revealed the little effect sabadilla had on A. melinus or sabadilla, dimethoate, formetanate or chlorpyrifos on C. montrouzieri.
