Moreno, D.S. 1983 Efficiency of pheromone traps in citrus pest detection.. Citrograph 68: 77-79.
Notes: Detecting small insects is extremely time-consuming and cumbersome. When the pheromones for red scale and Comstock mealybug became available there was an immediate application of their use in detection and survey work. This article discusses how the techniques were used to reduce cost and labor requirements in pest control districts and eradication projects in California citrus. Scale species discussed include Aonidiella aurantii, A. citrina, Planococcus citri and Pseudococcus comstocki.
