Notes: We present a genome assembly from an individual hermaphrodite Icerya purchasi (the cottony cushion scale; Arthropoda; Insecta; Hemiptera; Monophlebidae). The genome sequence is 1,098.4 megabases in span. Most of the assembly is scaffolded into 2 chromosomal pseudomolecules. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled and is 19.29 kilobases in length.
