Notes: The testes of P. hamelii, P. polonica and P. tritici are reducted and genital organs of the adult males are formed by the seminal pouch connected to the ejaculatory duct. The males of these species are characterized by a short period of active life and copulation. The necessity that such testes should be permanently active was lost; instead the accumulation of mature sperm bundles takes place in the new organ, the seminal pouch, which is more adapted to an accelerated ejection of the sperm in the insemination of a great number of females.
