Meyerdirk, D.E., Newell, I.M., & Warkentin, R.W. 1981 Biological control of Comstock mealybug.. Journal of Economic Entomology 74: 79-84.

Notes: The successful importation, mass release and establishment of exotic natural enemies on the Comstock mealybug, Pseudococcus comstocki (Kuwana), in the residential area of Porterville, CA, within the San Joaquin Valley have resulted in the biological control of this mealybug. The natural enemy complex consists of three imported parasites, Pseudaphycus malinus, Allotropa burrelli, A. convexiforns and Zarhopalus corvinus an indigenous parasite of P. maritimus, plus native predators, mainly Leucopis ocellaris and Chrysopa spp.
