Metcalf, R.L. 1982 Insecticides in pest management.. Introduction to Insect Pest Management. John Wiley & Sons New York 577 pp.
Notes: Icerya purchasi is given as an example of a pest resurgence that occurred as a result of broad-spectrum, persistent insecticide treatment that was toxic to its predatory beetle, Rodolia cardinalis. Aonidiella aurantii, Quadraspidiotus perniciosus and Saissetia oleae have developed resistance to certain chemical treatments. Chemical formulas are given for common insecticides in an appendix.
