Notes: Galls induced by Eriococcidae may exhibit variations in morphology related to the sex of the gall inducer. Male and female galls can differ significantly in shape, structure, and may even be induced and develop in different host plant organs. The eriococcids may exhibit characteristics such as sexual dimorphism, asexual reproductive strategies and variations in lifespan. As consequence, eriococcid-induced galls display differences in their anatomical and chemical profiles, particularly in those where sexual dimorphisms occur. In an overall analysis, peculiar anatomical and morphological variation of the galls induced by Eriococcidae are associated with differences not only in their life cycle, but probably also to the molecular basis of the distinct and diverse eriococcid-induced galls. https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-031-80064-1_17
