Notes: Croatia, San Jose scale is well known since 1933. According to the literature data this scale was wide spread in our country. During a five year faunistic research (2005 - 2009) it was determined that San Jose scale is not so wide spread as before. Its presence is approximately the same as those of Diaspidiotus ostreaformis and Epidiaspis leperii. In accordance with European Directive 2006/91IEC on control of San Jose scale, Regulations on measures for suppression of spreading and control of San Jose Scale - Quadraspidiotus perniciosus Comst. (NN 17/09) have been put into effect in Croatia. Detection and determination of the species, its biology and ecology, phytosanitary risk and phytosanitary measures have been described in this review.
