Notes: Original title: Ataque da cochonilha negra Saissetia oleae (Olivier) (Hemiptera: Coccidae) em mudas de duas cultivares de oliveira (Olea europaea L.) introduzidas no Brasil. This study was carried out to evaluate the Saissetia oleae (Oliver) attack in seedlings of two olive cultivars (Arbequina and Koroneiki) with 57.60 and 52.56 cm. of height, respectively. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse with natural infestation and completely randomized design (CRD). The pest population was assessed by direct counting in the upper, middle and lower parts of the plants. The Arbequina curlivar showed the lowest level of pest attack and it is most recommended for planting in the study region.
