Notes: Quadraspidiotus perniciosus, an important quarantine pest of temperate fruits, is reported from northern Switzerland in 1990-94, where it was monitored with pheromone traps. The distribution of the diaspidid in successive years is mapped. Quarantine control measures, chemical control with mineral oils and diofenolan, and biological control measures using the aphelinid parasitoid Encarsia perniciosi in Switzerland are described.
