Luck, R.F., Forster, L.D., & Morse, J.G. 1996 An ecologically based IPM program for citrus in California's San Joaquin Valley using augmentative biological control.. Proceedings of the International Society of Citriculture I: 499-503.
Notes: [VIII International Citrus Congress, 12-17 May 1996, Sun City, South Africa.] An ecologically based pest management program has been developed for citrus in California's San Joaquin Valley based on experience obtained from southern California. In commercial groves in the San Joaquin Valley, a combination of augmentative release of commercially produced Aphytis melinus DeBach and selective pesticides, when appropriate, produced controlled pests. It produced fruit of equal or better quality than that produced with the traditional broad-spectrum chemical program at a 40% reduction in pest control costs. A synopsis of the program is provided.
