Lim, W.H. 1972 Wilting and green spotting of pineapple by the bisexual race of Dysmicoccus brevipes Ckll. in West Malaysia.. Malaysian Pineapple 2: 15-21.

Notes: The bisexual D. brevipes Ckll. was experimentally shown to cause both wilting and green spotting of pineapple in West Malaysia. The severity and time of appearance of wilt symptoms depend on the size of the mealybug population. While D. brevipes is the most serious and widespread mealybug on pineapple, D. neobrevipes also occurs. While D. neobrevipes is bisexual, D. brevipes is parthenogenetic.
