Lian, J.H., & Tang, Z.Y. 1985 Experimental control of Hemiberlesia pitysophila Takayi with 'Emulsion 82'.. Forest Science and Technology No. 9: 29-31.
Notes: The distribution of H. pitysophila, a pest of pine trees found in Guangdong Province, covers an area of 12 adjacent countries around Hongkong and Macao, with an infested area of 2.57 million mu. A 1:3 or 1:4 dilution of China-made 'Emulsion 82' scored 100% mortality in laboratory tests. Pest mortality was 90.4% in a stand of masson pine [Pinus massoniana] sprayed with 10 litres/mu of emulsion 82 diluted 9X. The pesticide was nontoxic to mammals and pest natural enemies. [1 mu = 0.067 ha].
