Kozarshevskaya, E.F. 1988 [Features of reproduction of the white peach scale Pseudaulacaspis pentagona (Targ.-Tozz.) (Homoptera, Coccoidea).]. Entomologicheskoe Obozrenye 67(2): 257-265.
Notes: Ecological studies were conducted on P. pentagona in Yugoslavia in 1980-1983. Dichroism was observed in eggs, zoospores and 1st instar larvae. Pleochroism was noted only in eggs. Egg dichroism prevailed on most of the host plants. It was possible to determine sex-related differences between males and females in every developmental stage, from the egg to the imago. The proportions between eggs of different colors may depend on the host plant, egg laying time and the temperature regimes affecting female development. Color deviations in females and eggs may depend on the host plant, feeding site, plant habitat, state and individual features.
