Notes: The adult female and first-instar nymph of the erythrina scale, Toumeyella erythrinae, a new pest species of soft scale insect collected on Erythrina coralloides, locally known as "árbol de colorín" in Mexico, are described and illustrated. Closely related species, also occurring on Erythrina spp., are discussed.
