Notes: While studying the lac insects of Brazil, the authors came across two undescribed species infesting several species of myrtaceous plants in Brazil and Uruguay. These species are most similar to Tachardiella ourinhensis Hempel, 1937, which was described from Brazil on an undetermined species of Myrtaceae. The two new species and T. ourinhensis do not fit into any known genus of lac insects so a new genus is established to accommodate these three species. This paper aims to redescribe T. ourinhensis and formally describe to science two new species, one from Brazil and another from Uruguay. Each species is described based on the adult female and for N. charruarum also the first-instar nymph.
