Notes: A new lac insect pest, Austrotachardiella colombiana sp. n. (Kerriidae), is described and illustrated based on the adult female. This species was reported causing dieback on the twigs and branches of two cultivars of Psidium guajava L. (Myrtaceae) in Santander de Quilichao, Cauca, Colombia. Revised taxonomic keys to the genera of the family Kerriidae and to separate the species of Austrotachardiella Chamberlin are provided. No previous records of lac insects from Colombia were found.
