Notes: Title in English: Rhizopulvinaria spinifera BORCHSENIUS, 1952 and Rh. artemisiae (SIGNORET, 1873) (Coccina, Coccidae) - two zoogeographical highlights from the Kyffhäauser mountains/Thüringia, Germany. Summary. On two karst hills in the SW-Kyffhauser mountains the rhizophilic soft scales Rhizopulvinaria spinifera BORCHSENIUS (Cottony Carnation Scale) on Gypsophila fastigiata and Rh. artemisiae (SIGNORET) (Cottony Wormwood Scale) on Artemisia campestris were found. Rh. spinifera, a pontic faunal element, is a new species for Germany, whereas Rh. artemisiae was only known from the Nahe-valley (Rhineland-Palatinate). Both xerothermophilic species exhibit their most northern exclaves at the Kyffhauser. They are characterized by morphometry, habitats and distribution.
