Kehat, M. 1967b Studies on the biology and ecology of Pharoscymnus numidicus (Coccinellidae) an important predator of the date palm scale Parlatoria blanchardi.. Annales de la Société Entomologique de France 3: 1053-1065.
Notes: Ph. numidicus is one of the most important predators of Parlatoria blanchardi Targ. in Israel. It is widely distributed in the date palm plantations and its population levels are higher than those of all other lady beetle species. As this predator was exterminated in some plantations by continuous chemical sprayings, the mass production of it was undertaken in the laboratory with the aim of re-establishing it in the field.
