Notes: Life tables were established for Aonidiella aurantii on squash in the laboratory at 25-27 deg C and 55-65% RH. Crawlers were transferred from infested citrus fruits, collected from the field in Turkey, to squashes and allowed to develop to the adult stage. They were then marked individually and observed daily until they mated. Males were removed after insemination of the females, which were surrounded with a circle of adhesive to prevent migration of the crawlers. The experiment was terminated at the end of the reproductive period of the last female. The reproduction rate was 27.75 female offspring/female parent, the intrinsic rate of increase was 0.062 females/female per day, and the generation time was 52.4 days. Equal numbers of males and females developed, and the survival rate of the females was about 80% until the end of the reproductive period when it rapidly rose to 100%.
