Notes: The adult female, first-instar nymph, male pupa and adult male of a new species of the genus Cyphococcus Laing (Hemiptera: Coccomorpha: Coccidae) from India, C. williamsi Joshi & Rajgopal sp. n., are described and illustrated. This is the first record of the genus Cyphococcus and the subfamily Cyphococcinae from the Oriental region. Information on distribution, biology, host plants, associated coccinellid predators and hymenopteran parasitoids is given.
