  • Notes: In the present study, occurrence of the citrus parlatoria scale, Parlatoria ziziphi (Lucas) infesting Citrus limon (L.) Osbeck is reported for the first time from Andaman Islands. We also provide a brief re-description aided with photographs of live and slide mounted specimens along with information on distribution, host plants, nature of damage, pest status and biology of the scale. As this scale insect has been considered as exceptionally common species in the quarantine, we recommend stringent quarantine measures to stop intra-national spread of insect pests between mainland India and Port Blair islands, both at sea and air ports of entry
