Notes: This species is recorded for the first time in Hungary at Sellye, Baranya County in 1923, then spread north rapidly, infesting trees planted for the silkworm industry. When mechanical and chemical controls proved ineffective, the chalcid parasite (Prospaltella berlesei was imported and has demonstrated success in controlling the scale.
