Hu, X.P., Li, S.Z., & Zhou, C.H. 1990 [A preliminary study on Nidularia japonica.]. Forest Pest and Disease No. 2: 3-4.
Notes: Nidularia japonica (Acanthococcus japonicus), an important pest of Quercus spp. that was formerly misidentified as Gossyparia spuria (Eriococcus spurius) in some literature, is a new record to China. The pest is distributed in Liaoning, Shandong, Hebei, Hunan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Zhejiang and Jiangsu provinces. Its morphology is described and illustrated. Observations on its bionomics are reported.
