Plant protection for human welfare.] It is reported in this review of the biological control of Phenacoccus manihoti Matile-Ferrero and Mononychellus spp. on cassava in Africa that a species of Apoanagyrus (possibly A. lopezi De Santis) and Diomus sp. from South America proved to be very effective in experimental releases against P. manihoti in Nigeria in 1981-82, and that a predacious phytoseiid is being reared and released against Mononychellus in Nigeria.
