Hekal, A.M., & Sakr, H.E. 2001b Morphology and biology of Aphytis holoxanthus DeBach, a new recorded parasitoid of the black scale insect, Chrysomphalus ficus Ashm. in Egypt.. Egyptian Journal of Biological Pest Control 11(1/2): 71-76.
Notes: Adult morphology, emergence and mating behaviour of the ectoparasitoid, Aphytis holoxanthus were studied. The sex ratio of males to females was 1:1.1 and 1:1.7 under field and laboratory conditions, respectively, while unmated females produced males only. Honey achieved the longest oviposition period and longevity of both sexes, as well as the greatest numbers of eggs laid and hosts parasitized per female. On the contrary, deprivation of food and water had adverse effects on the previous aspects.
