Hefetz, A., & Tauber, O. 1990 Male response to the synthetic sex pheromone of Planococcus citri (Risso) (Hom., Pseudococcidae) and its application for population monitoring.. Journal of Applied Entomology 109: 502-506.

Notes: The use of the synthetic sex pheromone of Polanococcus citri for population monitoring was evaluated. The half life of the pheromone in the field, determined both by behavioral assays and chemical analyses was about two weeks. The seasonal fluctuation of male catches in the pheromone traps could be correlated with the shifts in the population densities of the females, which was monitored manually.
