Notes: A report is given of the releases of Encarsia berlesei (How.) (Prospaltella berlesei) in two localities in the Guilan Province of Iran in 1977-78 for the control of Pseudaulacaspis pentagona Targ. in fruit orchards. In one locality (Fowman), five releases were made in June - August 1978, and parasitism increased from 6% in July 1978 to 25% in August 1979. In the other locality (Passikhan), four releases were made in September - November 1977 and a further four in March - May and September 1978, and parasitism increased from 13% in August 1978 to 24% in May 1979. These and other data indicate that the parasite had become successfully established in over 50% of the orchards where it had been released.
