  • Notes: The Kuwaniidae is a small family of scale insects that contains 15 species in 5 genera, namely: Hoffeinsia Koteja (1 extinct sp.) known from an amber fossil; Kuwania Cockerell (7 spp.) with 5 species from the Palaearctic region and 1 each from the Ethiopian region (Kenya) and the Nearctic region, all species on Fagaceae except the African species that is known from Burseraceae and is likely not congeneric.
