Grillo Ravelo, H. 1985 Mesopeltita sp. (Hymenoptera; Pteromalidae), nuevo reporte para Cuba. [Mesopeltita sp. (Hymenoptera; Pteromalidae), new record for Cuba.]. Centro Agrícola 12(1): 146.

Notes: It is reported that 2 males and 3 females of a species of Mesopeltita close to M. atrocyanea were reared from adult females of the coccid Saissetia hemisphaerica (S. coffeae) collected on orange in Santa Clara, Cuba, in 1971. This species can be distinguished from Scutellista cyanea by the fact that the scutellum in S. cyanea is very large and covers the base of the abdomen, whereas the scutellum of Mesopeltita is of normal size. Mesopeltita was not found during later studies (details of which were published in 1981) on the natural enemies of Saissetia coffeae in Cuba.
