Gopalan, M., Radja, N.C., & Balasubramanian, G. 1987 Screening rice varieties for resistance to mealybug.. International Rice Research Newsletter 12(4): 18.

Notes: A field-plot experiment was carried out in Tamil Nadu, India, to evaluate 17 rice varieties for resistance to Brevennia rehi. Twenty hills were selected for each entry and the number of mealybugs per tiller and percentage infested plants on 20 hills per entry were recorded at 15-day intervals beginning 15 days after transplanting. Infestation ranged from 19.1% in IET8616 to 58% in AD85001. ACM10 had the highest number of mealybugs per tiller (107.6). Numbers of mealybugs per tiller and percentage infestation were positively correlated.
