Notes: The occurrence, harmfulness, food plants and control of the 11 species of scale insect known to infest ornamental conifers in Poland are described. They are mainly controlled using Actellic [pirimiphos-methyl], Ultracid [methidathion] and Anthio [formothion]. Species mentioned include Carulaspis juniperi, Insulaspis newsteadi, Lepidosaphes ulmi, Leucaspis pini, Nuculaspis abietis, Parthenolecanium corni, P. fletcheri, P. pomericanum, Physokermes piceae and Planococcus vovae.
