Notes: Here, we compared the insect herbivore damage on fossil Eucalyptus frenguelliana leaves from Laguna del Hunco with that of extant, rainforest-associated Eucalyptus species in Australasia to evaluate whether insect herbivore assemblages tracked the iconic angiosperm genus for 52 Ma, and to assess whether fossil insect damage can help in discovering extant insect diversity.
