  • Notes: The Hungarian Spruce Scale Physokermes inopinatus Danzig & Kozár was detected for the first time in Sweden in 2010, when it infested 1000 ha of Norway spruce. Most infected trees were logged that same year to save the timber and, over the following two years, the species was eradicated and the trees began to recover. The species was rediscovered in Sweden in 2013 in a churchyard in S. Sandby. This occurence was unexpected, as not only is this area 15 km distance away from the location of the first infestation but the species was found on Picea glauca var. conica, a host never before documented in Sweden. Furthermore, this was the second case where a third-instar female was reported in this genus.
