García-Marí, F., & Rodrigo, E. 1995 Life cycle of the diaspidids Aonidiella aurantii, Lepidosaphes beckii and Parlatoria pergandii in an orange grove in Valencia (Spain).. IOBC/WPRS Bulletin 18(5): 118-125.
Notes: [Proceedings of the meeting at Antibes (France), 27-28 October 1994, V. Vacante, Ed., working group: Integrated Control in Citrus Fruit Crops.] The evolution in the proportion of different developing stages of Aonidiella aurantii, Lepidosaphes beckii and Parlatoria pergandii was studied in a Navel orange orchard near Valencia (Spain) during 3 years. The objective was to compare the three species for moments of immature peaks and levels used to predict these peaks. The three species have a similar pattern, with a first peak in June, a second in August-September and a third at the end of the year, though L. beckii shows some particular traits. The overall percent of immatures is higher in A. aurantii, followed by L. beckii and P. pergandii. A. aurantii has a second maximum much more irregular and with lower immature levels than the first. Some modifications in the actual recommended control strategy for these pests are suggested.
