Fytizas, E., & Katsoyannos, P.I. 1983 Phenomènes d'homeostase chez les larves, les pupes et les adultes de Rhizobius forestieri. [Phenomena of homoeostasis in larvae, pupae and adults of Rhizobius forestieri.].. Mededelingen van de Faculteit Landbouwwentenschappen Rijksuniversiteit Gent 48(2): 273-279.

Notes: The reactions of larvae, pupae and adults of Rhyzobius forestieri (Muls.) reared on Coccus hesperidum L. to changes in temperature, including lethal high temperatures, were measured in the laboratory in Greece, mainly from the oxygen consumption of the insects. The occurrence of homoeostasis (defined as a reduction of activity and metabolism less marked and more temporary than either diapause or quiescence) was observed in all stages at temperatures above 30 and below 15øC. Temperatures above 40øC proved lethal, but between 35 and 40øC there was a short period of excitement (indicated by increased oxygen consumption) followed by some measure of thermal equilibrium and a period of maximum homoeostasis during which the respiratory quotient fell to 0.
