Notes: Populations of Phenacoccus manihoti were surveyed on cassava during two dry seasons in the Congo; large reduction in the abundance of this pest at the beginning of the rainy season was accompanied by changes in the age structure of the population, with a net reduction in the proportion of immature individuals; it is suggested that this is due to over exploitation of the food plant.
