Notes: In March of 2022, root mealybug Ripersiella maasbachi (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae) nymphs and adults were found infesting roots of potted Camellia japonica (camellia) plants in a nursery in Italy. The NPPO of Italy has implemented phytosanitary measures. This is the first detection of R. maasbachi in Italy.
